PGDM IN RESEARCH AND BUSINESS ANALYTICS

In today’s competitive time, the Post Graduation Education has become essential for future career. Out of the available Post Graduation Programmes, Management Education is most suitable, cost effective and least time to consuming (just two years).

Analytics, most commonly refers to exhaustive use and analysis of data using various statistical and quantitative analysis tools and technology by applying various predictive models for decision making and actions.

Thus the most important features of analytics can be summariz ed as:

  • Use of statistics and statistical tools
  • Decision Analysis
  • Quantitative techniques converging into the model development.


PGDM in Research and Business Analytics approved by AICTE, DTE & Govt. of Maharashtra is conducted by GNVS Institute of Management which is being offered by very few Management Institutions in Mumbai. It is an employment generation program acceptable by the industry.

Business Analytics are used in industries like retail, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, e-commerce, energy, social media, e-governance, telecom etc.

Students successfully graduating from the programme will be expected to join organizations working in the area of analytics. Those interested in higher studies may pursue doctoral or other advanced studies in areas related to analytics.

This Two Year PGDM in Research and Business Analytics Program is covered in six trimesters.



Tentative & Brief Syllabus for Research and Business Analytics

Trimester System

1st Trimester

  • Introduction to Business Analytics, Descriptive Analytics & Fundamentals of Excel.

2nd Trimester

  • Introduction to Statistical Techniques, Micro & Macro Economics theories and Application

3rd Trimester

  • Simulation and its uses in Business and decision making & Modeling Methods and its uses in Business Analytics

4th Trimester

  • Prescriptive Analytics, Six Sigma, Big Data Analytics, Integration & Data Mining

5th Trimester

  • Business Research, Intelligence and Artificial intelligence

6th Trimester

  • There will be only one compulsory paper project planning and uses of Data Interpretation however; the students will be required to have hands on practical training with the Industry and corporate.
  • Placement Activities will be primary objective of this Trimester
  • Finance Specialization
  • Marketing Specialization

Fee Structure

The Fees for the entire PGDM in Research and Business Analytics is Rs.4,50,000 for Two Years payable in simplified installments.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

  • A minimum 50% in graduation from any University / Authority which is approved by AICTE and recognized by AIU.
  • Appeared any common entrance tests such as MAH-MMS/MBA - CET, CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA or any other All India CET for Academic Year 2018-19.
  • GD & PI will be conducted for final screening.

Pedagogy
The pedagogy involves extensive classroom instructions, guest lectures, case analysis, filed work, project work, presentation, quizzes, industrial visits, seminars etc. along with hands on training on various Business Analytics tools and software’s such as SAS, R-Programming, ERPs and SPSS .

To equip students with skills that are in high market demand and provides profound knowledge and understanding of analytics

The students during and after the completion of programme will be able to conceptualize, organize, and produce knowledge solutions to complex real life business problems and have a comprehensive understanding of the functional areas of Research & Business Analytics.
